Aaron-Raney-Kitsap-General-Surgery-Surgeon-Near-Me

I grew up in the jungles of Indonesia – starting as a toddler through high school. My interest in medicine grew as I saw the tropical diseases and maladies all around me. A missionary doctor taught me to suture while caring for children at an orphanage, igniting my passion for offering hope and healing through surgical care.

I completed my undergraduate degree at Seattle Pacific University where I studied Biology and Chemistry. I worked for several years as a dialysis technician with Northwest Kidney Centers in Seattle prior to medical school. During this time, I built meaningful relationships with my patients while providing their dialysis. Additionally, these years allowed time and space to settle into marriage with my lovely wife Lena.

We moved all the way to Iowa for medical school at Des Moines University. My passion for surgical care became evident in my opportunities in medical school. I became fascinated by the body and how surgery enables healing. During these years we also welcomed our two boys into the world.

I completed my surgical training at OhioHealth Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. This program equipped me with the necessary skills to provide high-quality broad-spectrum general surgical care.

My family and I are excited to return home to the Pacific Northwest to be near the ocean, mountains, and all our family. We enjoy the simple things in life: time together outside, delicious food, and a good laugh. We are delighted to join the Kitsap community and grow roots here.
